and the WINNER is!

CONGRATULATIONS to Sue@Country Pleasures AND JBSquared the winners of The Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook! Head on over and click on my profile over yonder...then email me your mailing address...and I will get this cookbook out to you quicker than you can say "rassle me up some of that there brisket P-dub"! Woooohooo, I just felt like I gave away a million bucks! That was AWESOME! Wish I could do that every day!

YES YOU READ IT CORRECTLY I just gave away TWO copies of Ree's cookbook! No April Fools going on here! I actually had two signed copies, because if you remember I bought a stalker level number of books for Ree to sign (10). So SUPRISE! Read on for the rest of the story or at least most of the story....

Now if I may blather on some more about what I have gained from this whole process of actually cooking through an entire cookbook....

Well if I take my hands and grab the fat around my belly button, it kind of looks like the donut you see below...quite a nice little thing to gain...NOT!

This would be bacon fat...that I now just have on hand in my refrigerator...you never know when a bit of bacon grease will come in handy. Thanks P-dub...how did I live with out it!

I stressed a little bit over... will Ree read my blog and HATE it? (like Julia hated Julie)...then I stressed over, "Oh my Land! she read my blog" did she really like it or was she just being nice...

I gained the Love of all things meat and bacon. We ate lots of meat and lots of bacon in the last three months. I even went so far as to try chocolate covered bacon recently....Ree, you are a bad, bad influence Lady!

We will probably never, although I try to never say never, have store bought Ranch Dressing in our house again. Ree's ranch dressing puts Hidden Valley to shame...it needs to go hide in a valley when it sees this dressing coming. And for some reason I have no guilt about eating it...because it feels better for me being that it's homemade and all.

I also NEED to thank my promoter....my girlfriend Demetria..BIG D. This girl went gangbusters to try and get everyone she knew and many people she didn't to read my blog. I think it was just as much about her love for Ree and her over the top cookbook as it was about her being one of those friends who just is out there pulling for ya...love you Girl!

You asked:
What were our favorites?
Will I cook from this cookbook again?
What will I cook again?

We all had different FAVorites....

Cece 7 year old wonder girl, lover of all things sugary and gooey...her favorite surprisingly was the Onion Strings. She thinks they need to accompany every meal. Will they? Heck NO! O my land....fried onions do not a pretty family make.

Luke 10 year old, soccer goalie, Jr.inventor LOVED the Fried Chicken. He wants this once a week. How about once a month. Not sure if our dog could live though fried chicken once a month.

Noah my 13 year old, three sport wonder, skate boarder dude also loves the Fried Chicken, but the Cinnamon Rolls take a close second.

Ainslie my fun girl to feed. The one that wanted Linguine with Clam Sauce leftovers in her lunch...she is her mothers daughter! Her ABSOLUTE favorite was the French Breakfast Puffs, and Penne Alla Betsy.

Ken....he loved most all of it. Perfect Pot Roast, the Pizzas, it was hard for him to pick one.

Me..I am with my husband, it is hard for me to pick a favorite. But I do have dreams about "zeee leetle French Breakfast poofs". The Cowgirl Dinner Party had to be the highlight. Awesome food, friends....so fun! I love the Olive Bread and the BBQ Jalapeno Poppers. I literally made myself sick on these two things. I told you I gained the P-dub 5!

What wouldn't I make again...oh I can't say anything wasn't worth making again.

And absolutely I will cook from this cookbook again, often even.

I can't thank you all enough for following me thought this adventure.
Hopefully I will have more adventures with P-dub in my future...

Come back soon, for more CRAZIness, RECIPES, and FUN giveaways!

*****OK WHO KNEW that Ree would actually give me a GIANT shout out yesterday on her FaceBook Page!!!??? I thought I was being all organized by posting this WINNER post ahead of time....since we are on the road with our kiddos at the moment...then I get a frantic text from Big D while on the road re: P-dub's FB page! So now I will be up very late tonight reading all your comments, there is nothing I rather DO! This is FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for coming over. I could not have done it with out Ree's fantastical cookbook! Like someone commented "what would we do with out Ree?" My sentiments exactly! And I am giving a NEW copy away not mine, I bought an extras just for this purpose! So no worries friends, I will always have MY copy. And yes you are right who every wrote it, this cookbook was a pleasure compared to trying to cook through Julia's cookbook. I am not into putting myself through torturous processes. I gave that stuff up when I turned 40!****

Stay tuned.....all you Ree lovers!!! Because Ree Drummond is such a sweetheart, a REAL stand up kinda gal, a true beauty inside and out there will be more Pioneer Woman GIVEAWAYS!!!! NOT FOOLIN! I would not April Fool you about this....she is giving me 10 more signed copies of HER cookbook to giveaway! I had previously asked her for a t-shirt and a calf nut to give away... but she just wanted to give me the books....NO PROBLEM I can do that. (OH my kids are going nuts on the hotel beds jumping around and screaming with excitement....OK I'm back I had to join them for a minute! Nothing better than jumping on hotel beds!)

Congratulations to the winners! Can't wait to hear from you BOTH!
LUVya!

  9. Hi Sheila!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog... OH MY WORD! I can't believe you did! I never thought you would lol.

The only drawback of the cookbook is that there needs to be MORE RECIPES! Though I guess that would = more lbs. for you! Not too good.

I am getting ready to make the Biscuits from the cookbook. I am a serious baker, but have come up 0 for like 8 or something outrageous when it comes to biscuits. It's because I am always trying to make it a bit healthier by slipping in wheat flour and I think that's the problem. I just need to bite the bullet & go all white baby!

    Have a wonderful weekend!
