I have been continuing to cook my way through the Pioneer Woman's cookbook. I have just gotten lazy in posting about it. So now I am going to give you a brief over view of what I have made.....Remember to comment and you will get added to the drawing to win a signed copy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks!
I have to wear these food service gloves because I am a weirdo about squishing my fingers through ground meat.
The recipe rebel in me kicked in for this step of the meatballs. It called for me to roll them in flour, fry them, then bake them in the oven with the sauce. I wanted to just toss um in a pan drench them with the sauce and bake those babies. But I did it Rees way!
Frying the comforting meatballs in my iron skillet. I love that pan almost as much as my Kenny.
PW's Creamy Mashed Potatoes
This is the bowl of taters that I set aside for myself....just a little midday treat!
Yummy! Dang, I'm telling you... this not going up a pant size rule is gonna kill me.
Now that is comfort food....peas and mashed potatoes....and yummy meatballs...oooh-la-la!
These cookies were scrumptious and a hit with my kids. The problem was that I got on the phone while making them and added and extra egg. I can not cook and talk on the phone at the same time. It results in runny dough and burned meat!
Egg in a Hole
I absolutely love that she has a recipe for "egg in hole" in her cookbook. Totally a mom recipe! Easy and fun for your kiddos!
Cut a little whole in your bread.
Then put your bread in a pan with lots of melted butter let fry up a minute then add your eggs. Flip them little guys over and.....
Serve them to your big guys!
Marlboro Mans Favorite Sandwich
These sandwiches were fantabulous! Everyone ate them, which is always a plus when you have four kiddos you are trying to make happy. One child did pull out the onions..."they are a vegetable mom!". Heaven for bid this scrawny lad let a vegi pass his lips. I should have told him onions produce natural gases then maybe he would have eaten them. Instead I went into a stupid explanation of how onions are good for your immune system....blah, blah, blah.
I also made the Spicy Pulled Pork, but failed to get a picture of it. I would have had to be lightening speed because I made it for Super Bowl Sunday and it looked like a pack of hungry wolves around the pan of pork! Just a few scraps were left....sorry. Well of course you can get all of these recipes on thepioneerwoman.com or you can wait and hopefully win yerself a signed copy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks all for yourself. Some of you have said that you can't comment...that blogger won't let you and that totally bums me out. I am trying to figure out why...but if it makes you feel better you can email me at email@example.com and let me know you wanted to comment and I will throw your name it the drawing. Thanks for reading....luvya!
